SHIRLEY A. SLOGGETT Born: Jan. 25, 1933 Died: Feb. 9, 2014 AURORA – Shirley A. Sloggett, 81, of Aurora, passed away peacefully Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at St. Joseph Hospital in Kokomo, Ind. She was born Jan. 25, 1933, in Decatur, the daughter of Gerald and Dorothy
(nee Vance) Jobe. She is survived by three children, Harryette (Keith) Whittlinger of Pennfield, N.Y., John (Mary Phyl) Sloggett of Forest, Ind., and Dean (Maribeth) Sloggett of Peoria, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard D. (Charlene) Jobe of Sadorus; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Sue (Blaine) Lippert of East Moline; and her parents. ST. CHARLES – J. Todd Pomplin, 48, of St. Charles, passed away Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at his home. He was born May 29, 1965, in Indianapolis, to John and Jodell Pomplin. For 20 years, he was a sailing instructor and bar manager on Sanibel Island, Fla. Mr. Pomplin is survived by a daughter, Lakyn of Ft. Meyers, Fla.; a son, Bradley; two brothers, Jon of Geneva and Jeffrey Pomplin of Cincinnati; two nieces, Amanda and Ashley; and a great-nephew, Aiden. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be at noon Sunday, Feb. 16, at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main St., (Corner of Routes 64 and 25), St. Charles. Interment will be private.
