STERLING – Beer and wine are available at the Northland Mall for the first time since the Diamond Dave’s Taco Co. franchise left town. The Kopper Kitchen Restaurant, formerly known as The Spot, was reopened in Decem-

ber by owners Mike and Judy Dalipi. Mike’s father, Benny, had opened the restaurant in 2006. The Dalipis announced plans to sell beer and wine when the eatery was reopened, and the liquor license was granted May 23. Mike said he decided to wait for a while before opening the taps. ROCK FALLS – City officials are breaking down trails development plans into smaller, more manageable pieces. At Thursday’s meeting, it was runners to their marks. Rick Rodgers, a member of the Rock River Road Runners, and Mark Truesdell, a cross country and track coach at Rock Falls High School, offered their expertise to the Hennepin Canal and Trails Committee. A charrette was held March 21 with the purpose of incorporating residents’ ideas into the recently completed trails master plan. TRAILS continued on A114

New art gallery
