STERLING – With two nurses now infected with Ebola after treating the man who died of the disease at Dallas hospital, health care agencies around America are amping up their precautions, including those in the Sauk Valley. Wednesday morning, KSB Hospital posted on its website the precautionary steps staffers will take to screen potential Ebola patients, and, although it hasn’t posted about it, CGH Medical Center staff will be doing the same thing. Both Lee and Whiteside county health departments are in close contact with their respective hospitals to monitor and adjust precautionary measures for what health workers are calling an “evolving situation.”

DIXON – University of Illinois student Patrick Taylor of Dixon, owner of the beloved and iconic Chicken Car, has been the victim of fowl play (a completely appropriate use of this pun, we promise.) Posted Sunday on the Champaign County Crime Stoppers website (with a few minor edits): “Rooster Tail Plucked from Chicken Car “Crime Stoppers and Champaign Police are seeking information regarding an unusual incident involving theft and criminal damage to property.” CHICKEN CONTINUED ON A2
