Yoga Studio

The circuitous is a destination that allows seekers of serenity to embark on a journey of discovering what sanctuary means to them. When visitors immerse themselves into this calming environment, they are able to find solace in the seamless fusion of contemplative yoga sessions, guided meditations, and immersive light therapy experiences. Where each activity is carefully molded to foster a holistic approach to well-being.

The objective of this studio was focused around the idea of not letting the world of AI frighten you, but instead challenge you to use it to your advantage. The AI programs that aided me throughout this project include midjourney and PromeAI, through the use of outputting quick variations of my own thoughts and materializing my renders.

During this project, I was challenged to design an environment that had to fit within the constraints of a 9’x18’ parking space. My challenge was to inhabit two people under the roof of this tiny home, as detailed on the following page. Due to the descriptions of my clients, my primary objective was to create an environment for both clients to independently live together. I managed this by having client “A” live on the second floor and client “B” on the third floor due to their different lifestyles and daily routines.

03 LIVING MACHINES

Opening Case

This project was developed through the investigatoin of space over time.

I specifically studied myself and the spatial experiences that I performed mindlessly every day. After analysing and documenting a daily ritual, a thematic image and graphic document was thoughtfully composed. The next task was to investigate my ritual and create a spatial mapping by a line”, which consisted of a detailed digital model of the space you occupy your rituals in.

Wizkid is a Nigerian artist whose main genre lies in afrobeats, R&B, and Pop music. What started the path to this design was the analysis of his famous song essence. The song is a great representation of how one embraces themselves which is a main focus in this design. Throughout the pop-up shop you will see a curvilinear design that relies on the flow of rhythm, and how it takes you through an experience. The color palette that was used in this design wasfabricated from a mixture of Nigerian culture and the product favs chosen by Wizkid.

This rendering features a glance at what this pop-up shop would look like at night. One of the challenges I was faced with during this project was to not only design a retail shop but to also create an entertaining space.

The rooftop bar creates amazing liveliness just like the lively culture in Lagos Nigeria. I produced a video based on my findings on nigerian beauty production, along with the mashing of glossier and Wizkid’s backgroun, to showcase a piece of Wizkid’s culture. This video would then be projected onto the church across the street for the people to take in a part of nigerian culture.

In this rendering, I wanted the clients to not only be able to shop here, but to also have the experience of customizing their products it would best suit their skin types. I did extensive research on Nigerian culture and beauty and found that the three products below are most popularly used in Nigeria.

The diagrams below show the hand made production of each product, which would also be part of the learning experience in this shop.

06 CALLE ENCHILADA

This project embodies the essence of home, incorporating elements of Mexican culture into Knoxville. Influenced by insights from cultural ambassador Abdias Isai Ricardez Perez, I chose enchiladas as a focal point due to their popularity and vibrant colors reflecting Mexican culture. A great takeaway from our conversation was Isai’s love for local markets and how food projects a sense of liveliness and warmness to Mexican culture. This sparked the overall theme for my restaurant and residential design, encompassing the market experience, while blending vibrant warm colors with raw, natural materials. The first-floor ceiling creatively uses tarps to replicate an outdoor market ambiance, creating a distinctive architectural expression.
