This design was based on personal choice of what to create within a larger scope project. Furthermore, I chose to design library that acts as a connection or link between the real world and fantasy and the community as a whole. Within this space, the goal is to create an environment for several personality types and to make an inclusive area for everyone, regardless of what genre someone may read or what background they may come from. This design is intended to be incorporated into a larger group project, utilizing 5 main goals, shown to the right.
Community Technology
Sustainability Comfort Incorporate these ideals...
Biophilic design
1. Verbal archives:
Reception area in which people go to ask questions or grab their reserved books.
3. Labyrinth:
Based on the Greek myth of the Labyrinth. This is where the fiction books are located due to the fact it’s a more “fluid space” similar to fictional writing.
4. The Vortex:
Entrances based on “The Secret Garden,” from there you enter more structured spaces in which the more structured books like bibliography and non-fiction books are.
5. Tavern:
These consist of the study spaces, which are structured almost like Speakeasies and designed as if pulled straight out of stories such as Harry Potter, Outlander, etc.
6. The Solarium:
This space is more of a private reading area that features a technological screen on the ceiling, which changes based on personal preference.
Located in the center of the library, utilized as a community seating area and main circulation zone.

There is currently an underutilized space in the Walnut Hill reservoir. One where a very impactful space used to rest is now a gated area in the middle of a community. As designers, we strive towards bringing people together through opportunities a space may provide. How may we start to do that in a new way while also respecting what has previously existed?
Design a place...
That Sparks Community engagement, Allowing for a higher circulation of people.
Re-imagine and Revise the Historical Aspects of the site (Pump house and Basins).
Enhance exploration of the site through effective way finding.
Minimize environmental Impact.
Project interiors were primarily based on sections. Since we wanted to depict the erosive effect of the back side of the basin by excavating it, the direction from the section view is based on the archaeological component of stratigraphy.
Stratigraphy: The analysis of the order and position of layers of archaeological remains (The older something is, the further underground it is).
Since we moved the original pump house from the initial location due to underutilization, we placed it in the library. Additionally, since the exterior landscape is not even, there is a slight ramp on the interiors, which allows for a sinking effect on the library. Along with the ramps, the

The ultimate objective is to create an office space that not only aligns with Gen Z’s values but also inspires, energizes, and fosters a strong sense of community, thus enhancing productivity and promoting inclusivity within the workplace.
Design a place...
That caters to the upcoming Gen Z needs within a workplace
This new space will strive to encourage collaborative work, and nurture a sense of community
Promotes adaptability, dynamic workplace that considers human needs.
One’s self; each individual requires different accommodations to succeed
Structure that prevents chaos within a workplace, and a sense of calmness
The most natural representation of how many things in nature change state.
A change or deviation from a straight line, a path to success isn’t always a straight one

These are more oriented towards specific task teams, desks allow for standing height or seating. Acoustical paneling and soft down lights allow for a more comfortable environment
Area oriented around a mental health break, soft seating and recentering areas that allow for movement and comfort and provide a break from the sometimes overly hectic office environment.

Point Cloud
(Cloud Compare, Meta Shape)
More of a new skill to me, but I picked it up in interest of another way of representation that allows me to see how I can further work to unify a space by being able to see the site context, architecture, and interiors all within the same image.
(Graphite, Charcoal, Pen, Marker)
I utilize drawing heavily within my process to help me understand a space as well as being able to physically represent thoughts to others. Additionally, it acts as another form of communication consistently for me when talking in groups or fully understanding thoughts.
(Oil, Acrylic, Face, Watercolor)
My interest for painting started around the same time that I got introduced to makeup. I use to sit in my room for hours on end painting my face. From there I started to use other mediums and quickly discovered I enjoyed playing with mixing mediums and experimentation.
(Hand Building, Wheel Throwing)
I learned how to do ceramics freshman year of high school, and learned I love to use my hands in order to create. Ceramics quickly became my favorite medium I work with because of how it allows me to detach myself from everything and focus solely on my thoughts and my piece.
