METSOLA STORY

The Metsola journey unfolds from a foundation of love, care, and an unwavering commitment to crafting sustainable, aesthetically pleasing children’s garments.

Established in 2007, Metsola stands as one of Finland’s oldest and most beloved children’s clothing brands, born out of a nostalgic retro boom that infused vibrant colours and daring prints to bring delight to Finnish families with children.

Evolving over the years, Metsola’s style has undergone transformations while maintaining a distinctive and personal identity. Captivating collections, lively prints, charming frills, and adorable bear ear accents perfectly present the essence of Metsola. Behind this triumphant children’s clothing brand lies a formidable team, blending vast expertise with boundless creative ingenuity.

Metsola’s garments have become cherished treasures, adored, and sought after over time. The brand’s reputation for Finnish quality and purity has transcended national borders, with a passionate team now setting their sights on foreign markets, fuelled by collaboration and a shared responsibility for the environment.

company

In January 2021, Metsola found a new home within the SGN Group Oy, a Finnish family company founded in 1933 with a predominant presence in Finland, Sweden, and the Baltics. Rooted in family values, the SGN Group envisions creating a company group that fosters the growth and prosperity of businesses, driven by values such as entrepreneurship, courage, passion, care, and trust.

SGN Group industries include motor sports, sports and leisure, consumer products, agricultural and machine trade, and industrial equipment. The group’s headquarters are located in Vantaa.

dESIGNING & PRODUCTION

Dedicated to sustainable practices, Metsola’s design and production processes prioritize ecological measures. The brand’s vibrant colours, graphic cuts, recognizable prints, and patterns have earned respect in quality-conscious families’ wardrobes. Utilizing organic natural materials, Metsola predominantly manufactures its clothing in the EU, promoting longevity and responsible consumption.

Manufacturing locally in Finland, Estonia, and Latvia and with knit accessories produced in Poland, Metsola minimizes transportation distances to reduce environmental impact. Recent expansions include production in Portugal and Turkey, as the brand refines manufacturing methods for cotton fabrics in an ecologically conscious direction.

Metsola actively seeks partnerships with environmentally conscious collaborators, emphasizing sustainable production processes and innovative approaches to materials for the clothing industry. Encouraging customers to recycle clothing contributes to the ecological lifecycle of Metsola products.

collections & COOPERATION

The heart of Metsola lies in its collections, characterized by playful patterns and high-quality materials that endure the test of time. With a primary focus on children aged 0-10 years, Metsola releases two main collections each year — Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter — with several delivery drops each, and other special collections as well. The NOS (Never Out of Stock) range consists of our loved classics and ensures swift inventory turnover and product availability to our customers.

Metsola retailers can buy our products through our B2B Webshop. Our logistic centre is located currently in Vantaa and deliveries are very fast to all our retailers.

Metsola products also come with comprehensive support materials for retailers, from images to sales promotion materials and social media content.

TREASURED ITEMS

As a beloved children’s clothing brand, Metsola enjoys widespread affection from children, parents, grandparents, and godparents alike. For this reason, Metsola products are often sought after and purchased as gifts. Metsola’s products are known for their durability, ensuring a high resale value.

The Wash - Repair - Recycle program embodies our commitment to sustainability: the value and quality of Metsola clothing endure from one child to the next. We encourage our customers to make thoughtful and sustainable purchases and to take care of their clothes. We also aim to motivate customers to repair small tears in their Metsola clothes and we have introduced “Vaatelaastari” fabric patches in our Webshop to make this easy and simple.

We are developing second-hand sales opportunities in collaboration with our partners. Currently Metsola clothes are available in the “Ninyes” online store, that sells used, responsibly made children’s clothing. By promoting sustainability and recycling, we aim to contribute to an eco-friendlier consumption cycle.
