Los Rios Community College District Injury Disclosure Sheet: Baseball The risk of illness, injury, or death exists where individuals are exerting themselves while engaged in any activity. Students participating in off season and/or intercollegiate sport classes must adhere to all precautions and rules to reduce their risk of illness, injury, or death. The injuries and illnesses that students should be aware of include but are not limited to: Abrasion
Dislocations
Sprains
Broken bones
Heat related illness
Strains
Concussion
Laceration
Respiratory related illness
Death
Spinal Injury
Some injuries and illnesses are more likely to occur depending on the activity engaged in. Injuries and illnesses particular to the sport of baseball include but are not limited to: ● Injuries to the shoulder and elbow area of throwing arm ● Injuries related to being hit by a ball ● Abrasions and lacerations (sliding, diving) Injuries should be reported to the head coach and/or the athletic trainer immediately.
