2014 PANTHER COACHING STAFF Rich Moore - Assistant Coach This is Coach Moore’s 2nd year with the Panthers. He brings extensive experience that go along with 25 years of coaching. He has coached 15 years of high school softball at both Del Oro and Ponderosa High Schools. He has compiled many conference and section championships and had several other teams that appeared in the section playoffs. Coach Moore has been involved in ASA softball for over 20 years and has participated in many National Championships. His best finish was a National Championship Runner-Up with his 18 and under team. Coach Moore has helped over ninety student-athletes advance to the next level and continue their softball playing careers (and education) at the collegiate level.
Paul Martinez - Assistant Coach Coach Martinez enters his 25th year of coaching. His coaching experience includes 22 years as a High School Baseball Coach, 2 years at Div. 1 level Sacramento State (2002 and 2003 ) and 1 year as the Asst. Head Coach at Cosumnes River College (1998). Coach Martinez has lead 3 teams to the Sac – Joaquin Section Championship, San Juan HS in 1995 and 1997 and Del Campo HS in 2013. In 1997 Coach Martinez was chosen as the Diamond Baseball National High School Coach of the year. During his time as a High School Coach, he has been chosen as Conference Coach of the year 7 times and has taken his teams to the Sac Joaquin Section Playoffs 16 times. He has amassed over 500 wins as a High School Coach. During his time at Sac State coaching, 6 of his Hornet outfielders were taken in the Major League Baseball Draft during his 2 years there. The past 6 years (2007 – 2013) Coach Martinez has been a Head Softball Coach in the California Breeze Organization. During that time his teams amassed over 300 wins and earned 3 trips to the ASA National Championships. Coach Martinez sent 14 players on to Division I or II scholarships during his last 2 years with the Breeze as the 18 Gold Coach. Coach Martinez has an A.A degree from American River College, a B.S. from Sacramento State University, and a Graduate Degree (Education) National University.
