We close our 19th Season with Handel’s Messiah, and it seems to me that “Hallelujah!” is a fitting sentiment. Yes, one can hardly help uttering a word of admiration upon hearing the angelic voices of Seraphic Fire, but it also represents the accomplishment of this season. Our staff, Board, and artists have worked diligently over the past 12 months as we navigated returning to in-person concerts while keeping everyone safe, and all the effort is worth it on the first downbeat when the voices of Seraphic Fire begin resonating throughout the hall. “Hallelujah” expresses the joy we feel at completing another season of sharing beautiful music, and the gratitude towards you, our patrons, for the generous support and words of encouragement that have helped us get to where we are now.

Jessica Carlson, soprano

The close of this season also marks a new beginning, of our 20th Anniversary Season, and all of us at Seraphic Fire are excited to share a year of ambitious programming, fantastic artists, and collaborations. Thank you for being a part of Seraphic Fire, whether it’s your first time here or your hundredth, and enjoy the concert! Rhett M. Del Campo Executive Director

There is no gift we can give to future generations that is more important than education. I count myself among those who paid little attention to the education work of Seraphic Fire until I became a board member. After all, my support was based on my love of the beautiful music and my wish to assure its continuation for myself and for our community. I encourage you to familiarize yourself with the incredible and far-reaching work of our education programs (see page 19). Their importance to the future of vocal ensemble singing has truly made itself apparent as, for the first time, we are seeing multiple Seraphic Fire performers who came to us first through one of those programs.

Jessica Carlson, soprano

Through your generous support our education work continues to grow in both reach and impact. This year our public-school programs are expanding to add Broward and Collier counties. In February, we hosted our first high school master class, and we are seeing record setting applications for the Professional Choral Institute in Aspen this summer. Also, in Aspen this summer we will be launching our first ever Choral Conducting Program. Seraphic Fire is more than transcendent musical performances. With your support, it is about an even better future for vocal ensemble singing. Dr. Thomas C. Boyd Chair, Seraphic Fire Board of Directors
