Experience the timeless brilliance of Johann Sebastian Bach in this concert dedicated to his motets. These intricate compositions represent some of Bach’s only works that have remained continuously performed since his lifetime. In a concert featuring our world-class singers alongside a first-rate period orchestra and apprenticeship students from Seraphic Fire’s Ensemble Artist program at UCLA, we honor Bach’s profound contribution to choral music.

Before candlelight concerts became a trend, Seraphic Fire was already setting the standard in South Florida. For more than twenty years, we have presented stunning vocal performances illuminated entirely by candlelight. This season, guest conductor Arianne Abela makes her Seraphic Fire debut showcasing music from the Renaissance, 20th-century, and today with thematic connections to water and nature. Enjoy historical works by Palestrina and Monteverdi alongside contemporary favorites by composers such as Eric Whitacre. Join us for one of South Florida’s most celebrated musical experiences.

Season 23 comes to a close with an unforgettable journey to historic Venice. A vibrant center for the arts in the Renaissance and Baroque eras, Venetian artists developed a distinct polychoral style. The pioneering voices of Adrian Willaert and Antonio Vivaldi will come to life in this concert, featuring apprenticeship students from Seraphic Fire’s Ensemble Artist program at UCLA and the University of Miami side-by-side with the professional choir, accompanied by our period instument quartet. You’ll be at the center of the action as we sing from every corner of the room. An experience you only can get at Seraphic Fire, our season closes with this aural explosion.
