VOLUNTEER HIGHLIGHT KURT SCHUBERT

Seraphic Fire is a South Florida treasure. To have such a fine vocal ensemble in our community that pushes musical boundaries with every concert is a privilege that should never be underestimated. It is also a privilege to be a volunteer with the hard working staff. My musical education is ongoing with Seraphic Fire, and each concert I learn about vocal music in ways that I would never dig up on my own. It is a lot of fun working the concerts, talking to the musicians, and seeing friends in the audience. I owe it all to Eugene Donaldson (rest in peace, Eugene), who introduced me to the choir and signed me up to volunteer. I began volunteering while earning my master’s degree in Landscape Architecture at FIU ten years ago, and just kept on. I can’t think of a better way to be of service. As long as Seraphic Fire is singing, I’ll be volunteering.
