We are also proud of the efforts and dedication of our employees, who in 2020, were recognized by the National Safety Council with a perfect record award for achieving over 89 million hours worked without a lost-time incident. Every day these employees are delivering on our vision to provide safe, efficient, and cost-effective natural gas liquefaction services to our partners, their customers and the global communities that depend on energy reliability and security.
Our Giving Priority Areas In 2020, Cameron LNG contributed more than $485,000 in community partnerships in Cameron and Calcasieu parishes. In alignment with our company culture and values, we provide funding and resources to community programs in the following priority areas:

Employee Contributions At Cameron LNG, we encourage and applaud employee involvement in our communities. Through the Cameron LNG Employee Giving Fund (EGF), employees voluntarily participate in a payroll deduction program supporting nonprofit charitable organizations. Despite the personal hardships many employees experienced in 2020 with COVID-19 and two hurricanes, they donated more than $28,000 to twelve organizations.

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS & SAFETY
Cameron LNG is committed to meeting or exceeding all local, state and federal environmental regulatory requirements. We are also proud to partner in efforts that preserve and protect wildlife habitats, restore the coastal beach and wetland areas, and support beautification efforts in our communities. In partnership with local environmental organizations, we support the reintroduction of the Whooping Crane into Southwest Louisiana and fund programs that promote and advance the restoration and conservation of the marsh and wetland areas of our coastal zone.
The health, safety, and security of our workforce and the community are at the center of everything we do. At Cameron LNG, we partner with the Sheriff’s Departments, Offices of Emergency Preparedness, and local emergency responders in both Cameron and Calcasieu parishes to support emergency preparedness and safety programs that keep our communities safe. In 2020, we funded the purchase of safety equipment and gear as well as emergency preparedness training. As part of our Safe Communities initiative, we partner with local nonprofit organizations helping to eradicate hunger, provide healthcare screenings and other critical services to improve the quality of life for those in need.
HURRICANE RESPONSE: Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge Hurricane Laura had a profound impact on Southwest Louisiana, especially on the eastern end of Cameron Parish where The Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge, one of the most biologically diverse wildlife areas in the nation, is located. The Refuge’s student lab and classrooms were destroyed. Cameron LNG joined other local businesses to provide funding to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries to rebuild and restore some of these facilities.
HURRICANE RESPONSE: Hackberry Temporary Clinic When Hurricane Laura hit Cameron Parish, the community’s local clinic suffered significant damage. Cameron LNG’s donation provided a temporary building for the Hackberry Rural Health Clinic and made it possible for residents to receive healthcare locally while repairs were made to the permanent clinic.
EDUCATION
ECONOMIC PROSPERITY AND LEADERSHIP
Today’s students are tomorrow’s workforce and leaders who will shape our future. We partner annually with Cameron Parish Schools to promote student achievement and teacher development. Our outreach initiatives prepare future generations and grow a vibrant workforce. For more than a decade, we have also offered a competitive scholarship program for graduating seniors pursuing higher education.
Cameron LNG works alongside community and business leaders to invest time and resources to support local economies and communities. In 2020, we focused our efforts on initiatives that helped our communities cope with the impacts of COVID-19 and two hurricanes.
HURRICANE RESPONSE: Supporting Our Students Students endured unprecedented disruption to their education in 2020. First, schools pivoted to a virtual learning environment due to COVID-19 and then back-toback hurricanes devastated their campus as well as their homes and personal belongings. Recognizing the hardships families faced, we focused on bringing back school and community spirit with food distribution to students, helping restore Hackberry High School’s gym floor, and contributing to other immediate needs.
HURRICANE RESPONSE: Small Business Pathway Grant Cameron LNG, Sempra Energy and the SWLA Alliance Foundation established a Small Business Recovery grant program to provide immediate cash assistance to struggling businesses across Southwest Louisiana with less than 25 employees. The initial program was funded with a $150,000 grant from the Sempra Energy Foundation and $15,000 donation from Cameron LNG. Other local companies joined the effort and donated to a second round of grants for a total of $300,000 to 100 local businesses by the end of 2020.
Cameron LNG – A Community Partner For More Than 15 Years Cameron LNG has been a community partner in Southwest Louisiana for more than 15 years. Starting with the development of our natural gas regasification terminal in 2004 through its conversion to a liquefaction facility beginning in 2014, we have been dedicated to being a responsible corporate citizen and good neighbor. To date, more than $3 million in contributions has been awarded to nonprofit and business organizations benefitting the region. As a company dedicated to growing economic prosperity and developing a resilient region, Cameron LNG has also contributed to several community emergency preparedness and safety initiatives, including: More than $6.3 million to build the new Hackberry Community Center, which serves as the area’s local Emergency Operations Center and a shelter for residents. In 2020, the Center also served as an office for FEMA. $200,000 to the Cameron Parish School Board to install a new gym floor at Hackberry High School after it was flooded in 2005 (Hurricane Rita) and 2008 (Hurricane Ike). Funds to procure a temporary Health Clinic in Hackberry after hurricanes hit the Southwest Louisiana region in 2008 and 2020. Raised nearly $1 million from project sponsors and vendors to support Cameron LNG employees and their families impacted by the hurricanes. Cameron LNG also invests in the community through job training and creation, and the payment of local taxes. Since the development of the liquefaction terminal: Over $4.7 million was contributed to the Associated Builders & Contractors school as part of the Southwest Louisiana Construction Users Council to support construction craft training. Dollars supported accelerated courses for trade/crafts including carpentry, electrical, instrumentation, heavy equipment operators, welding and pipefitters. Property tax payments to Calcasieu and Cameron parishes totaling more than $13 million in the 2020 tax year.
