As part of the Sempra family of companies, Port Arthur LNG encouraged local organizations to request funding from its parent company’s Emergency Relief initiatives in Texas in 2020. Sempra Energy and the Sempra Energy Foundation funded relief and restoration programs in Jefferson & Orange County communities. More than $300,000 was awarded to 13 organizations providing local residents with food, water and cleaning supplies, delivery of medicine & medical supplies, emergency shelter/housing and bill relief, and housing repairs.

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS & SAFETY

We don’t just meet or exceed all local, state and federal environmental regulatory requirements on our projects, we also are proud to partner in efforts to preserve and protect wildlife habitats, restore coastal beach and wetland areas and support beautification efforts in our communities. Over the past two years, and in partnership with local environmental organizations, we are helping transform a muddy, barren ocean floor off Sabine Pass, Texas into a habitat-rich hub for marine life. We also support maintenance and enhancements to Bert Karrer Lions Park as well as education, outreach and restoration projects at Sea Rim State Park.

Health, safety and security of our workforce and communities is at the center of everything we do. Through our emergency preparedness and safety initiatives, we’ve partnered with the Port Arthur Police and Fire Departments and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department to provide support for programs that keep our communities safe. Additionally, we fund local nonprofit organizations helping to eradicate hunger, provide health care screenings and services, and assist families needing help paying their bills.

235 TREES PLANTED As part of a partnership with Texas Master Naturalist, 235 trees were planted at Sea Rim State Park with the help of the local Boy Scout troop. Black Willow, South Wax Myrtle and Live Oak trees were planted to provide resting spots for birds during their 1000+ mile spring migration over the Gulf of Mexico.

EDUCATION | STEM Today’s students are not only tomorrow’s workforce, but leaders who will shape our future. Port Arthur LNG partners with local schools in Sabine Pass and Port Arthur Independent School Districts, as well as colleges and universities like Lamar State College and Lamar University, in support of programs in the areas of science, technology & innovation, engineering and math (STEM). By investing in STEM, we help ensure students in Southeast Texas have a strong foundation to build on. DUAL-DEGREE GRADUATES Wilson Early College High School (WECHS) in Port Arthur is a unique and innovative program between Port Arthur Independent School District (PAISD) and Lamar State College–Port Arthur (LSCPA) with support provided by Port Arthur LNG. In its first year, more than 40 graduating students received both a high school diploma and an associate degree.

400+ SCHOOL SAFETY KITS Safety is our top priority. The Port Arthur LNG team funded and assembled 425 COVID-19 Safety Kits that were distributed to students and teachers at Sabine Pass School upon their return to school in Fall 2020.

EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT Sempra LNG and Port Arthur LNG employees participate in many hands-on activities supporting our local community. In the last year, we’ve provided meals, donated to food and holiday toy drives for low-income and underserved audiences, and assembled safety kits. While COVID-19 and extreme weather events put restrictions on in-person efforts, our employees rallied to personalize over 300 cards sent with holiday food baskets to veterans’ homes; purchase toys and make donations to benefit local toy drives; and distribute Back-to-School COVID-19 safety kits. HOLIDAY TOYS During the holidays, employees purchased more than 100 toys to donate to Linda’s Lighthouse “Christmas with the Constable Toy Drive” in Port Arthur. Employees also donated funds to purchase an additional 200 toys for other local partner events. This included a matching donation by our parent company, Sempra Energy, for each dollar donated by employees.

Project Milestones and Infrastructure Upgrades  All key permits for Port Arthur LNG are in place for Trains 1 & 2.  Road for the Future is a $140 million investment project relocating about 3.5 miles of State Highway 87. Project kicked off in November 2019 and will be completed in Q2 2021.

1

 Pipelines were consolidated into a utility corridor and a portion of the City of Port Arthur’s waterline was upgraded.  930,000 tons of rock were used to build the new portion of the highway — that’s equal to two Mount Rushmore sculptures!

2

 Over 5.5 million linear feet (LF) of vertical wick drains and nearly 500,000 LF of horizontal wick drains were installed to accelerate settlement of embankment, prior to paving.  Over 81,000 feet of pipeline were installed — approximately the distance from Port Arthur to Beaumont.

3

 Nearly 12,000 LF of silt fencing were placed to eliminate soil run-off during construction.  More than $38 million has been spent locally to procure materials and services with over 30 local vendors. 4
