Florida State University

Dear Seminole Boosters,

Contained in this report are highlights of the many outstanding accomplishments by our student-athletes and teams over the 2021-22 season. As devoted and connected supporters, many of the achievements will be familiar and collectively illustrate our comprehensive success.

Additionally noted is the remarkable success of our student-athletes in the classroom and the community, and I invite you to pay particular attention to the record-breaking performance in the classroom achieved last year. It is a great source of pride for our institution and should be an inspiration to all Seminole fans. As you know, your contributions provide direct support to the academic mission of the department.

Our commitment to being national leaders in all three areas (athletics, academics, community service) is stronger than ever and that is the primary reason I have been as outspoken as I have been regarding maximizing Florida State’s revenue through all means possible.

The support of Seminole Boosters—your support—for our athletics program and our beloved institution has never waivered which is a quality that sets us apart from other schools and links us together with the Unconquered mindset.

I sincerely thank all of you on behalf of our student-athletes, coaches and staff for your generous support of FSU Athletics and Seminole Boosters. We repeat it often but it is the simple truth, Seminole Athletics would not and could not be among the best programs in the country without your support.

Thank you, again, for everything you do for all of us every day, and GO NOLES!

UNRESTRICTED GIVING

Unrestricted commitments are more important than ever before in helping to fund the priorities of the Athletic Department. Unrestricted funds provide the flexibility for FSUAA leadership to identify areas where they can have the greatest impact. Unlike facility or endowment gifts, unrestricted commitments are not earmarked for a specific designation and can therefore go to work immediately in core areas to support our student-athletes and coaches as well as the athletic facilities. They can also help to cover operating costs that are accrued throughout the academic year. By providing Florida State with a steady stream of discretionary monies, unrestricted dollars enable the Athletic Department to fund recurring costs and to address unforeseen challenges as they arise.

ANNUAL FUND

The annual fund continued to serve as the fundraising priority in 2022 with an emphasis on increasing overall membership. We continued our plan of personal outreach to former members and qualified prospects to grow annual membership. The 2022 annual fund drive had three main objectives: Increase the renewal rate to 90% or higher, increase the number of new members, and increase members in Leon County. The annual fund grew in both pledges and members in 2022!

DIRECTED GIVING AND COACHES CLUBS

The Seminole Boosters Coaches Clubs provides alumni and fans of Florida State Athletics an exclusive opportunity to direct their financial support to the head coach and team of their choice. At the Coaches Clubs, we believe that it’s “Your Team. Your Choice.” Every dollar given to the Coaches Clubs is immediately directed to the program of your designation in order to provide funds for urgent needs not covered in the team’s annual budget.

Funds from the Coaches Clubs are a major component in helping every program at Florida State compete at the highest level of collegiate athletics. Coaches Clubs helps develop elite talent into championship studentathletes both in the classroom and in competition. Some of the pressing needs of our programs that our Coaches Clubs members provide support for are:

• Purchasing state-of-the-art training equipment to provide enhanced student-athlete safety and overall performance. Cutting-edge technology enables us to remain amongst the nation’s top Division I programs.

• Providing summer school opportunities for deserving student-athletes.

• Facility enhancements and upgrades.

• Supplemental funding for “Team Impact Trips” that are critical for recruiting and enhancing the overall FSU student-athlete experience.

The following contributors have made significant investments of $50,000 or more specifically to Coaches Clubs or other restricted funds during the 2021-2022 fiscal year:

• Paul Brothers

• Robert C. Blankenship

• Herb and Mary Jervis

This program has so much tradition and I always remember that every time I’m on the field. We receive so much Booster and fan support at home at Dick Howser and on the road. Many people don’t know about that support we receive directly from Seminole Boosters from technology in the batting cages to technology to travel. My lifelong dream was to be a Florida State Seminole and it would not be possible without help from the donors. Thank you for all your help.
