WHY CHOOSE MIDDLE SCHOOL AT SELWYN HOUSE SCHOOL?

At Selwyn House, we are passionate about guiding boys to maximize their unique potential. Knowing that Middle School is a crucially important stage that bridges the gap between two phases of development, we guide boys through their transition years from childhood to adolescence. Whether they embarked on their Selwyn House journey in Kindergarten or have joined us as they begin Middle School, boys quickly form tight bonds with their fellow students and teachers alike, and are encouraged to be engaged and curious.

In Middle School, boys are coached to be independent learners. They are given the tools to build greater autonomy and gradually take ownership of their academic path, all within a structured, inclusive and caring environment where they are known and loved.

Through dynamic and challenging educational experiences, we help boys build character and greater autonomy to ensure a successful transition to Senior School as they embark on their journey to becoming young men.

UNLOCKING TALENT THROUGH EXPERIENCES

We know that learning through experiences is not only more fun, it unlocks the potential of boys. Our experiential education program is a key element of Middle School. One highlight is the Middle School “Intensives” where Grade 7 and 8 students experience a four-day week immersed in an experiential and intellectually rigorous course. This unique format emphasizes handson, student-centred learning, providing the opportunity for off-campus excursions and learning in our community.

Small classes with a team of teachers who are dedicated to teaching the Middle School years. Three classes per grade. Approximately 20 students per class.

Exceptional athletic programs that challenge boys and keep them active as they develop new skills and strengths

Broad range of student-led Clubs such as Chess, Ping Pong, Dungeons and Dragons, DJ, and Knitting

BUILDING ON THE STRENGTHS OF BILINGUALISM

We value Quebec’s rich bicultural heritage. We will help your son to appreciate the advantages of being bilingual and to continue to develop his language skills in both English and French.

CREATING CONNECTIONS

There are many opportunities for students to interact and build connections with those in other grades. Parents also get involved as volunteers, creating a family atmosphere.
