Joyful Instruction & Engagement for Each Learner: UDL in Action

From neuroscience research, we know every brain is as different as a fingerprint. The challenge before us is -- how do we actually create learning environments where all our different brains can thrive? This is where Universal Design for Learning (UDL) can help. Join me to talk about how UDL was developed and why it’s essential for all students – especially in the earliest years of learning. Let’s discuss how the UDL approach can help you find “hidden” barriers in your lessons and elevate student strengths, so children start to understand how they learn best. When students are engaged and develop a sense of agency, they can also develop a love of learning, and instruction is joyful.

Breaking Language Barriers, Accessible Learning for All

From translation tools to universal design, this session spotlights innovative approaches that empower educators to connect with every learner and family—ensuring language is a bridge, not a barrier.

Funding Fireside Chat: Trends & Options for Edtech

A tough budget season: What you need to know. It’s official: school districts are facing a messy budget season, many with financial holes that need to be addressed in the next few months. And with enrollments falling, finances could be tight for some time. Are there ways to spend smarter? What will all this mean for staffing, salaries, programs, and other school offerings? Do early retirements make sense? Can districts still make new investments for academic recovery, or to address absenteeism, special education, or salary improvements? What will it mean for students? This session will cover what you need to know about the coming challenging budget seasons, including how changes in federal funding could impact schools.

Reimaging EdTech for Early Learners

Marguerite

Whiteboard

Early learners don’t need more screen time—they need smart, developmentally appropriate tech that enables them to shine and share their learning in ways often not possible without technology. This includes non-verbal students, non-readers, and students with disabilities. This panel will explore how technology, even for the youngest learners can have incredible benefits in the right context.
