Addition Fact Fluency allows students to deepen their conceptual und addition and build fact fluency. Students analyze visual representations and construct numbers using manipulatives to explore how smaller numbers join together and solve targeted addition facts using number lines, ten frames, number bonds, games, and stories. Seesaw’s multimodal tools combine with opportunities for students to connect and reflect, enhance student engagement, and support differentiation. Every student work sample provides teachers with focused insights to assess understanding and track growth. Formative assessments provide data showing when students have reached mastery or need additional support.

Best Practices

Self-Reflection: Students are encouraged to make and share observations before learning and connect and explain their thinking after learning.

Scaffolds & Support: Lessons should be modeled and introduced as a whole group before assigning for students to complete independently.

Engaging Practice: Incorporate games into daily math centers or as warm-up exercises.

Data-Driven Instruction: Use the auto-graded fluency assessment to track students’ growth and mastery of addition facts. Assessment can be set to Practice Mode and assigned multiple times.
