Volunteer Opportunity
Children’s Choir Shepherd
Children’s Choir volunteers play an important role in creating a welcoming, engaged, and inclusive classroom. The age range of each choir (4-7 and 7-13 years old) and number of children participating require active, caring adults to achieve a level of comfort and safety within the room that is conducive to learning. Children also need assistance robing for worship on days when they sing in service. Some children may require individualized support such as redirection, modeling and encouragement, a safe escort to and from the restroom, or help distributing and collecting materials during class. The lead teacher will set the pace for the class and may ask volunteers for specific help with supporting students as needed.
In keeping with church policy, all volunteers who work with children must complete a volunteer application and background check. To initiate the process, please visit SecondChurch.org/ChildrensChoirs.
