Demographic/Population The population of this area is 9,644. The demographics of our area is 44% is white, 13% Asian, 11% Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander, 10% Hispanic/Latino, 7% Native Hawaiian, and 40% Other/Mixed. There are 4,982 or (51.7%) males. There are 4,662 or (48.3%) females. 50.5% of people have no religion,16.5% is Catholic and 32.9% other.
Climate The climate for Kalaoa, Hawaii for winter is 74 degrees with a rainfall amount of 2.5 inches with a humidity of 74%. The climate for Spring is 76 degrees with rainfall of 2 inches and 75% humidity. Summer’s climate has a average temperature of 79 degrees with 1 inch rainfall ,and 72% humidity. The last one Fall is 77 degrees with 1.5 inches of rain and 74% humidity.
Kalaoa is located at 19.7231° N, 156.0047° W and the size of Kalaoa, Hawaii is 43.8 square miles or 28,030 acres .

During : The tsunami causes weathering by it hits the land and breaks beach boulders in pieces. It causes erosion by moving the pressure of the water to the surface of the ocean. After : The tsunami also causes weathering by breaking down the buildings. It causes erosion by moving the leftover sediments with the water from the tsunami. It causes deposition by depositing
Rapid Change? Tsunamis move very fast (about 500 mph), so they are a rapid change to Earth’s surface. They are also a rapid change because they cause a lot of change very fast.

HISTORY OF NATURAL DISASTER
Before During and After Before: Before the tsunami in Sumatra, Indonesia on December 26, 2004, people didn’t know what was coming and were just living their normal lives. Pets were acting weird and birds were flying to higher ground because they sensed that something was coming. During: Parents were worrying more about their children than themselves. People were struggling to swim because the tsunami was so strong. People went to higher ground because of the tsunami. After: There were over 230,000 people killed because of the tsunami. Someone said they saw a baby floating on a mattress after the tsunami. People had to clean up TONS of trash. It took over 2 weeks to clean up all the trash. It took 5 years to rebuild many buildings in Indonesia at the time.
