As summer unfolds, we’re excited to share some of the incredible work happening across our division. From launching new community advisory boards that amplify local voices, to celebrating cultural traditions like the Wat Lao New Year, our commitment to inclusivity and connection continues to grow.
In March, we were proud to join the San Diego St Patrick’s Day Parade, a longtime tradition honoring Irish American heritage and community spirit
The event not only celebrated culture and connection, but also recognized the lasting impact of Irish-owned businesses that have helped shape San Diego’s economy over the years. It was a joyful day shared with families, partners, and neighbors from all across the city.
COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS IN ACTION
This season, we’ve made big strides in strengthening community ties and elevating local voices
After being inactive for many years, both the Latino and Asian Chief’s Advisory Boards were brought back to life providing vital platforms for community members to share their perspectives and help shape public safety efforts
Our CYS teams helped celebrate the Wat Lao New Year alongside local families, taught at an educational event about the differences between squatting and trespassing and spent time with our Youth Cadets at Tavern and Bowl.
Each of these efforts reflects our commitment to connection, culture, and meaningful community engagement
