HARVESTING THE PEACE THAT WAS PLANTED

Please mark your calendars for a Feb. 8, 2025, MLK Event - Harvesting the Peace that was Planted. We hope to see you there and welcome all who would like to participate in this peaceful and historical tribute to a cause still worth pursuing. Rest in Peace Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, and may the Dream forever continue forward towards its intended mark -- "Let Freedom Ring "

A broken taillight or turn signal can mean choosing between an auto repair or buying groceries for your family. It can also spark a downward economic spiral that could lead to multiple tickets, confrontations with law enforcement, and even vehicle impoundment

The “Lights On“ program disrupts that downward spiral and builds goodwill between police and the communities they serve by allowing officers to issue vouchers to get broken lights fixed at no cost instead of issuing citations The Community and Youth Services Division will be hosting an event to hand out these vouchers Each one is worth $250 and can be used to fix things such as burned out headlights, taillights, brake lights and turn signals.

STAY TUNED! AN EVENT DATE, TIME AND LOCATION WILL BE ANNOUNCED SOON.
