MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS

This Apprenticeship programme in Maintenance Operations is suitable for people who are employed by a general maintenance company in the Construction industry or who are working in a general maintenance role within an organisation. It is designed to recognize the knowledge, skills and competence demonstrated by an individual in the workplace and covers areas such as painting and decorating, trade repairs, plastering repairs, plumbing repairs and tiling.

QualiďŹ cation Overview The L2 Intermediate Apprenticeship consists of a L2 NVQ Diploma in Maintenance Operations, the Level 2 Diploma in Maintenance Operations plus functional skills in Maths and English at Level 1 This qualification provides the opportunity for individuals who are working as a multi-skilled operative, within three of the following disciplines: Carpentry & Joinery, Painting & Decorating, Plumbing, Drainage, Wall & Floor Tiling, Roofing and Bricklaying or Stonemasonry, to demonstrate their competence.

DELIVERY MODEL

Candidates will come into Eastbourne college one day a week to undertake practical work and theory tests in College and build an assessed portfolio in the workplace. Multiple choice testing will be used for the functional skills

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Acceptance onto the apprenticeship will be based on the outcome of an interview, skills scan, and an initial assessment in Maths and English.
