WATER POLLUTION

Studies by USGS have shown that the pollution in water has increased the concentrations of the inorganic constituents in the water can be harmed by natural things and by human activities too. In the Antelope Valley study area, one or more inorganic constituents have shown to at high concentrations in 30% of the primary aquifers and at moderate concentrations in 30%. In Antelope, they were high in 32% of the primary aquifers, on an areal basis; the range of high trace element percentages in the Desert Region study areas was 15 to 54%. The highest percentages in Antelope valley were arsenic in 28% of the main aquifers, vanadium 6%, and boron3%. The USGS have said it themselves that our water has been more polluted than ever. As many officials can agree that we are in a heavy drought. We should

take care of the little water we have. There has been many dumping and chemical waste going into our water supply. To protect the water supply, the State of California made the Groundwater Ambient Monitoring and Assessment (GAMA) Program. The first of the Basin Project of the GAMA Program provides a comprehensive assessment of the State’s groundwater quality and also increases public access to groundwater-quality information as well.
