SCOTTSDALE ARTISTS’ SCHOOL
Richard Schmid
This is an amazing art book with great recipes and an amazing recipe book with great art. This cookbook will inspire you to create whether in the kitchen or the studio. So, use all the colors of your palette to plate up a delicious masterpiece! January 2020 arrived and the vague chats about a Scottsdale Artist School Cookbook congealed into reality, quickly becoming a project that required a committee, a commitment and a conversation. How might we best design a book that would not only be a cookbook, but as importantly, an art book? How do we design a book which reflects the multitalented group of artists, teachers, staff and supporters of our beloved School? The book’s creators were determined to tell the School’s story, share its unique culture, illustrate the remarkable diversity of talent, offer family favorite recipes and illustrate the hospitality and generosity of the School’s population. Our gratitude goes to Norm LaZar our Cookbook Committee Chair whose passion and perseverance brought this book to fruition, to Patty Ehrlich our Cookbook Co-Chair, and to the entire committee who donated their time, talents and monies. Thank you to friends and family who graciously contributed to the initial cookbook fund. Your generosity has allowed us to cover the cost of publication which in turn makes the sale of each book pure income for the School. Most of all, we are so grateful to the visual and culinary artists for their contributions; your enthusiasm and participation is reflected in these glorious pages. A special thanks to Julee Hutchison whose layout and design created the recipe for success.
