ADAM PATON Community Development
Adam’s remit is to grow volleyball in communities and schools across Scotland and ensure everyone has a pathway to play as well as opportunities to become coaches and officials.

Ambassadors Course
The Volleyball Ambassadors Course has been carefully designed to provide an introduction to leading a volleyball session in a community and educational environment.
The course is primarily delivered by our Foundation officer over four hours but can be covered in two double periods, and will give pupils the confidence to assist with junior school provision or primary school delivery. It is very popular for schools or local authorities who run leadership academies or offer a SCQF Sports Coaching course. It is recommended that candidates should be 16 years of age to do the course, but there is flexibility around this and can be discussed at the time of booking.
The subsidised course only costs £10 per pupil for affiliated schools, which includes membership for the 2045/25 year. Demand is high and places are limited so get in touch asap to confirm your slot.

Schools Festivals
Schools Festivals are a great opportunity for pupils from different schools to come together and play volleyball against their peers in a fun and friendly environment It’s a fast paced multi game setting, with pupils not playing responsible for scoring and officiating.

From these sessions, players are selected to participate in further Development and National sessions. For more information, speak to a member of Scottish Volleyball staff or email indoorperformance@scottishvolleyball.org.

Only a few Tartan Talent athletes ever play for Scotland, but many athletes have seen success having come straight from School Volleyball
DEVELOPING
A large group of athletes are selected by National Team coaching staff from Regional sessions to attend a series of Developing sessions These athletes train twice a month and receive a wide-range of off-court training from Anti-Doping to Sport Psychology to Relationships.
COACHING
The Pathway also seeks to develop coaches - both from clubs and teachers delivering volleyball in schools Coaches get formal and informal training, upskilling, and the opportunity to travel away with Scottish National Teams in time Contact Ally Jack on the above email for more information on Coach Development
