FRONT COVER: The Bridge Project THE BRIDGE PROJECT was set up in 1995 as a local charity, to assist disadvantaged adults within the community. To this day, we are dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing environment to support those living with dementia, learning disabilities and those experiencing mental health issues. Through our meaningful work, we create opportunities for personal development and building friendships.

Earlier this year, we opened our first retail operation taking over a shop in Gainsborough Street, Bazaar. “We are really pleased with how Bazaar is going,” added Ms Searle.

“It’s doing well. It gives our clients a great opportunity to gain experience of working in a retail environment at a pace to suit them.”

We are also continuing to run a cafe, shop and a hot lunch delivery service, as well as running creative workshops.

Sudbury social enterprise The Bridge Project has secured a £10,000 grant to expand the arts and activities side of its business. With

a £10,000 grant from The Essex Trust we are refurbishing our pottery facilities and we will be able to offer pottery and ceramics workshops to the public for the first time. www.thebridgeproject.co.uk This issue of Sudbury & District Events represents September, October & November 2018.

BRITISH LEGION Sudbury & District Branch The Ormiston Festival of Remembrance will be held on 16th October and we shall be returning there for a Schools Commemoration Concert on 22nd November. The Sudbury Parade, led by The Colchester Pipes and Drums, will leave at 2pm for a 2.30pm Service at St Gregory’s Church. After the Service and Wreath Laying the parade will return to Market Hill via North Street.

The Orihuela Costa lies on the most Southern point of the Costa Blanca and comprises of approximately 16 km of fine sandy ’blue flag’ beaches, rocky coves and sparkling blue waters of the Mediterranean. The climate is typically Mediterranean with welcome cool sea breezes in summer and protection by surrounding mountains against the cold North winds in winter. It averages nearly 3,000 hours of sunshine each year and the average temperature easily exceeds 20 degrees.

The area is a golfers paradise with 4 golf courses in Orihuela Costa: Las Ramblas, Villamartin, Campoamor and the award winning Las Colinas. There are many other golf courses all within an hours drive.

Orihuela Costa hosts a wide variety of restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. With some bars and restaurants providing free evening entertainment. At the new shopping centre “Zenia Boulevard” you will find a varied range of retailers and restaurants. Open air entertainment also takes place throughout the year.

Orihuela Costa is ideally placed to visit the historical towns of Cartagena, Murcia, Orihuela, Alicante and Elche and are all within one to one and a half hours drive.
