PROGRAMME NOTE
Louis’ Loops was written for Margaret Leng Tang to perform on a Schoenhut toy piano. I have since performed it on the ‘big’ piano and think that it would also sound well on the harpsichord. The pianist or harpsichordist should feel free to be imaginative with pedalling or registration.
Louis’ Loops was commissioned by Charles Amirkhanian and Other Minds Festival, San Francisco, and premiered by Margaret Leng Tang in 1999. It is dedicated to my godson, Louis Wallen.
