Armando Ghidoni C

omposer Armando Ghidoni (b.1959) brings together the spirits of Italy and France in his music, with jazz a frequent inspiration.

The sensitivity and tradition of bel canto is evident in his works, while his harmonic and rhythmic writing evokes French impressionism and the spirit of jazz, both features contributing to the unique and highly personal character of his work.

Armando Ghidoni’s compositional output is prolific, with many of his works regularly chosen as set pieces in leading national and international competitions. His Jazzy Flute Challenge for flute and piano, Badaluk Concerto for wind quintet, and Adagio for flute and harp (or piano) have all received an Honorable Mention from the National Flute Association in the USA. In 2015, his wind quartet Swinging Counterpoint won first prize in the category ‘Chamber Works for Flute and Other Instruments’.

Since 1989, Ghidoni has been published exclusively by Éditions Alphonse Leduc in Paris. Alphonse Leduc joined the Music Sales Group in 2013.
