Ann Maclean, Highland School Motivating students to take ownership of their learning and creating a classroom environment where collaboration and competition are safe and fun for students is no small task. But when students understand their strengths and weaknesses and feel empowered to step out of their comfort zones, the onus of learning rests upon students, where it ought to be, and frees up the teacher to work on moving the whole class forward together.
