sILICON VALLEY EDUCATION FOUNDATION ELEVATE (Math) This results-driven program brings new math understanding and confidence to students who’ve been drowning in math class. Your gift gets results: A 2015 study found Elevate [Math] to have 2x the impact as compared to other math intervention programs. Not only does the curriculum, established by the Silicon Valley Education Foundation (SVEF), sharpen skills, decrease math anxiety, and build positive mindsets, it exposes 3rd-10th grade students from low-income families to careers that require and reward math skills.

Meet H a i l e y N ava rre t e Hailey Navarrete praises SVEF’s programs and its teachers for inspiring her passion for math. They introduced her to more thorough, accurate methods for learning in 8th grade that gave her a strong foundation in the subject when she entered her freshman year at Woodside High School.

R U R A L TE A CH E RS FOR T H E 21ST CE N T URY OXF OR D TEAC HER S AC A DE M Y Help scale innovations piloted at Oxford Day Academy to other schools in underserved communities across the US, particularly those in forgotten rural communities. Roughly the same number of students are in urban as in rural schools, and they face many of the same barriers to academic success; despite this, roughly 90% of education reform funding has flowed into urban communities. The Oxford Teachers Academy catalyzes rural education reform by training rural residents in the best practices developed at Oxford Day Academy as they become credentialed, lifelong teachers for their local community.

Meet H e l e i n e G rewe I am 15 years old and from East Palo Alto, CA. I am in my second year of attending Oxford Day Academy as a sophomore of the founding class. At school, I strive to make sure everyone is receiving and working for the best education they can get and further urge my companions to be the best version of themselves. Outside of school, I am a young female activist of color that works on social and environmental justice issues both around the world and in my community. I have three siblings and I am the oldest. When I am at home I love educating my mother and siblings on new things I’ve learned and my days of hard work. As the oldest sibling, I work hard to be the best role model I can be to my siblings because I believe that everything we learn starts from home.

Pouring Thoughts of Innovative Education into the Community Vintners are pioneers, skilled at cultivating delicate vines under even the toughest circumstances. Now they’re bringing that grit and commitment to the larger culture, finding innovative solutions to the challenges of tomorrow. Launched in 2015 by the Santa Cruz Mountains Winegrowers Education Foundation and the Santa Cruz Mountains Wine Growers Association, the Silicon Valley Wine Auction showcases the diversity of the valley - from a long and storied history of pioneering vintners of making local wine - to a social innovation ethos that champions transformative education. Now in its fifth successful year, the Silicon Valley Wine Auction has raised over $3.7M to support transformative and innovative pedagogy programs that are learner-led. On Saturday May 18, 2019 we roll out the barrels for an evening of celebration and giving. Share a passion for wine, food and education at Eden Estates, nestled in the rolling foothills of Saratoga, CA.
