The event will include a call for entries into SciFest 2013 at local level (SciFest @School) and at regional level (SciFest@College).
SciFest@CIT 2012 - Minister Seán Sherlock with students, Adina Horgan and Nathan O’Regan and teachers, Caitriona Mahony and Carol O Sullivan (Davis College Mallow, Co. Cork), Dr. Brendan J. Murphy (President of CIT) and Dr Hugh McGlynn (CIT)
The closing date for entries forms to SciFest @ College 2013 is Friday 8 March. Entry forms will be downloadable from the SciFest website at the end of January.
SciFest@School 2013 A not-to-be-missed opportunity to promote science in your school SciFest@School is where second-level schools host their own in-house SciFest science fair. Support for the event is provided by SciFest in the form of a SciFest Science Exhibition Toolkit, resources and BKMs on the SciFest website. This strand was introduced in 2011 and though limited funding has meant that the introduction has been low-key
there has been strong demand from schools to participate. It is very clear that there is significant potential for the expansion of this aspect of the project as funding becomes available. Demand is likely to be further encouraged by the introduction of the new curriculum in the junior cycle of the second-level
schools in 2014 as SciFest is strongly supportive of the key skills seen as essential to learning in the new curriculum. }}
