The

purpose of this yearbook is to celebrate the fantastic sporting achievements of primary pupils from across The White Horse Federation.

Drove Primary School Hajira Marfleet

Year Group: Year 5

Nominated by: Craig Roberts, Assistant Principal Sport Represented: Golf

Achievement Description: Hajira is the current Oxfordshire County Champion and the Mid-Silver Champion Time and time again she is participating and winning tournaments

Reason For Nomination: Hajira is an excellent role model to all pupils at our school to show that practice brings success.

Drove Primary School Hamza Marfleet

Year Group: Year 3

Achievement Description:

Hamza has excelled with his golfing talents over throughout the year. He is currently leading the British Junior Golf Tour playing in an age group above his own. He is inundated with tournament wins and trophies and is looking forward to playing in the European tour in France this summer

Reason For Nomination:

Hamza has shown dedication to his sport and is reaping the rewards from his practising.

Gorse Hill School Lottie Vas

Year Group: Year 5

Sport Represented: Fencing

Achievement Description: We chose fencing specifically for children with low selfesteem as it nurtures confidence & self-belief One girl, Lottie, who was initially reticent to join in, soon immersed herself in fencing and found it to be something she is naturally good at.

Her parent subsequently contacted the coach and said “Lottie thinks fencing is amazing & cannot wait for you to come back. Just so you know, she said she is aiming for the Olympics, which I didn’t even know she knew what that was I’m sure she will want to come to your club I think there is going to be no stopping her, she has found her calling. Thank you for making me so proud of her”. Parent of Lottie.

Reason For Nomination: The visiting fencing coach quickly spotted the potential that Lottie had. Through the passion of the teachers and the external coach Lottie was given a chance to grow in fencing and unleash her previously undiscovered talent

Gorse Hill School Melania Feldmane

Year Group: Year 5

Achievement Description: Melania started fencing through Swindon Fencing Clubs Outreach programme which came into school It quickly became apparent to the coach that she had natural coordination, coupled with a quiet and steely determination to succeed in what is both a physically and mentally taxing sport. She enjoyed the 1 to 1 competitiveness of the sport rather than a ball orientated team sport and was encouraged to join the club outside of school time. She continues to excel at the club and has completed two nationally recognised British Fencing Achievement awards She is now starting to compete at a local level

Reason For Nomination: Melania embraced this new opportunity Fencing is sometimes seen as a sport for more elite school sectors Melania quickly showed skill and progress in core strength, speed, anticipation of reflexes but. more than that, she developed confidence, independence, resilience and a new respect for herself and others

Gorse Hill School Millie Taylor

Year Group: Year 2

Achievement Description: Millie has shown a genuine passion for dance and performing from a young age. She grew up watching her older sisters attend dance lessons before joining Emily’s Dance Academy at the age of 3 and joining the competition team at the age of 4, to compete nationally. Millie has since committed to intense training and has flourished in becoming the best dancer and performer she can possibly be. Millie has achieved many awards, both as a soloists and team dancer, plus winning various stand out and shoutout awards from judges who recognise Millie’s advanced dancing abilities and excellence in performing Being the youngest dancer on the team has never stopped Millie from doing what she does best, and she is a delight to watch on stage! Millie is going to have a bright and successful future in the dance and performance industry, where she hopes to become a dancer and dance teacher.

Reason For Nomination: We enjoy hearing about Millie's success She never misses a day of school even though she has often been competing all weekend and far away from Swindon! She never boasts about her achievements and we often hear about them from fellow dancers and adults involved with the dance school

Grange Junior School Boys Football Team

Achievement Description: Our boys football team have had a very successful season This year, they reached the Swindon PSFA finals on Saturday 17th May 2025 for the second year in a row. They showed exceptional sportsmanship throughout the season and their dedication to success was fantastic On the day, the boys won their final 5-3, with Freddy Harris bringing home player of the match

Reason For Nomination: Grange Juniors are now one of the very few schools in Swindon to have won the plate, shield, boys cup and the girls cup Well done to all!

Grange Junior School Girls Football Team

Achievement Description: The Grange Junior School Girls Football team won Primary School Girls Cup, Regional Finals and entered into National Finals

Reason For Nomination: The girl's team have won the Primary Schools Cup for the 2nd year They won against all the schools in Swindon to represent Swindon Town at Regionals. They won the Regionals and were entered into Nationals where they played at Molineux Stadium.

Haydon Wick Primary School Harrison Yarranton

Sport Represented: Ice Hockey for Swindon U10 Wildcat Academy

Achievement Description: Harrison has competed in several ice hockey tournaments and recently attended trials for the England team a fantastic step forward in his sporting journey

Reason For Nomination: We are incredibly proud of Harrison and love sharing his achievements with the whole school He truly embodies our school values, and it's inspiring to see his passion for ice hockey.

Haydon Wick Primary School Kabir Vij

Sport Represented: Chess

Achievement Description: Kabir recently placed second in the Delancey UK Chess Challenge U8 Mega final in Bristol and has qualified for the Giga final in July.

Reason For Nomination: We are extremely proud of Kabir and all that he has achieved in chess so far. This is a tremendous success and a testament to his hard work and dedication.

Achievement Description: She has competed in several club competitions, proudly earning 1st place on the bars. Most recently, she secured a place in the South West squad.

Reason For Nomination: Storm has achieved so much in gymnastics and continues to impress us with her incredible talent and determination We love celebrating her success at Haydon Wick Primary and proudly share her growing collection of medals with the whole school.

Achievement Description: Iziyah has developed skills in boxing at a local Boxing club, and is now taking part in boxing tournaments. It helps him release stress, build discipline, and improve self-regulation Teachers note better focus, calmer responses, and more confidence in class.

Reason For Nomination: Iziyah shows dedication by continuing boxing outside school, using it to build skill, discipline, and emotional control His progress, commitment, and positive attitude make him a strong role model and deserving of a sporting excellence award He is always commitment to PE lessons in school. During his lessons, he has encouraged and supported his peers

Reason For Nomination: Esmae is an incredible goal keeper for our school football team She will happily get involved with any sports and be an excellent team member to all Esmae shows excellent qualities of sportsmanship and our school values in everything she plays

Achievement Description: Elijah represents Swindon Town FC Academy at age group level He has travelled across the country, representing Swindon and playing against many other academy teams. When he is older, he would love to become a professional footballer

Reason For Nomination: We would like to nominate Elijah for his super achievements in football. We are all incredibly proud of him!

Rodbourne Cheney Primary School Eva McNeill

Achievement Description: Eva has led the school's Elite Team at Rodbourne Cheney Primary School to the final of The Great Big Dance Off. She has conducted her role of Dance Captain brilliantly, being a wonderful ambassador for dance across the school.

Reason For Nomination: Eva has led PE sessions, set up a Dance Club at playtimes and generally been a brilliant ambassador for dance across the school. We are very proud of her!

Achievement Description: Lillie is a two-time Irish Dancing champion. Lillie competes in international competitions, travelling far and wide to pursue her passion! When she is older, she would like to become a World Champion in adult age groups.

Reason For Nomination: We would like to nominate Lillie for her outstanding achievements in Irish Dancing. We are all very proud of her!

Rodbourne Cheney Primary School Wednesday Betz

Sport Represented: Open Platform Irish Dancing

Achievement Description: Wednesday is an Open Platform Irish Dancing champion. She has competed in many competitions achieving great success. When she is older, she would like to become an Open Platform Irish Dancing World Champion in adult age groups

Reason For Nomination: We would like to nominate Wednesday for her wonderful achievements in Open Platform Irish Dancing. We are all so proud of her!

SEEND Jacob Hodge

Year Group: Year 6

Sport Represented: Fencing

Achievement Description: Jacob has been fencing for the last 2 years after attending a Devizes Lions taster session in 2023. He fences with the Swindon Fencing Club and had the opportunity to fence in Wroclaw, Poland with the club last year This year he qualified for the British youth championships held in Sheffield where he made it to the under 12s quarterfinals. He has also assisted his coach both years since joining the club with the Devizes Lions taster sessions introducing other potential fencers to the sport.

Reason For Nomination: We have nominated Jacob not only for his exceptional fencing skills, but also his enthusiasm to inspire the next generation of fencers. We are super proud of him!

Shaw C of E Primary School Harry Bowden

Achievement Description:

Harry has been noticed as being an excellent sportsman but football in particular. He plays and keeps up with the Year 6 children at lunchtimes and can often out dodge them. Harry has superb ball control and can dribble with skill and precision.

Shaw C of E Primary School Samson Sanghera

Sport Represented: Basketball

Achievement Description: Samson represented the school in a basketball tournament and has consistently excelled during PE lessons, showing strong skill, focus, and improvement in every session

Reason For Nomination: Samson shows excellent sportsmanship, commitment, and teamwork. He applies himself fully in every game, encourages others, and is a positive sporting role model across the school.

Shaw C of E Primary School Sophia Romain

Year Group: Year 3

Sport Represented: Gymnastics demands strength, flexibility, fearlessness, and relentless physical and mental effort

Achievement Description: Sophia's hard work paid off: she earned a 'Working Beyond' the highest possible grading mark and placed 1st overall, becoming the Wiltshire Pre-Excel Champion.

Reason For Nomination: I’m nominating Sophia for her sporting excellence in gymnastics training 16 hours a week while still giving her best in school She earned top grading marks and became the Wiltshire Pre-Excel Champion through sheer dedication and talent.

Violet Cole

Achievement Description: Violet competes in local gymnastics and now holds gold, silver, and bronze medals for her efforts

Reason For Nomination: Violet trains with dedication and performs with grace, focus, and confidence She’s a brilliant role model and inspires others

Southwold Primary School Daisy Marsh

Sport Represented: Football, Ballet, Tap, Modern and Acro Dance & Ju Jitsu.

Achievement Description: Daisy plays for a community football team, competes in Ballet, Tap, Modern and Acro Dance as well as Ju Jitsu.

Reason For Nomination: Daisy not only participates and competes in all of the above sports outside of school but she plays for the school girls football team who got to the county final and made the county final as a cross-country runner.

Southwold Primary School

Achievement Description:

Isla competes in ballet, tap, acro, street and modern outside of school. In school she also plays for the girl's football team which went to the county final.

Reason For Nomination:

Isla dances every day of the week!!! And competes in every dance style you can imagine. Isla is such a good role model for the younger children in our school.

St Mary & All Saints Amelia Chowaniec

Sport Represented: Martial Arts & Kick Boxing

Achievement Description:

Amelia competed in the WKU World Championships in October 2024 in Rhodes, Greece. It was very tough competition however England finished second among the 22 nations. Amelia came back with 1 Silver (Kumite) and 1 bronze medal (Kick light).

We were so proud of Amelia for representing England in the World Championship

Tregoze Primary School Eli Bonner

Year Group: Year 3

Nominated by: Shaun Preen, PE Lead / SLT

Sport Represented: Biathlon and Gymnastics

Achievement Description: Eli competed at the Great British Schools Biathlon, where he finished 20th overall in a large field of competitors setting new personal best times He also finished 2nd in the European Biathlon Qualifiers for U9 boys. In his gymnastics, he won the South West men's Artistic Championships and is the South West all around U8 champion for the second year in a row He has later competed in a national level gymnastics competition at the Pipers Vale Challenge where he got 1st place on the floor for his age and finished 13th all around over the 6 pieces

Reason For Nomination: Eli is an exceptional young athlete and sportsman who has already accumulated some great achievements in his chosen sporting events He has shared achievements in Football, Tennis and Swimming but it is his impressive performances in Biathlon and Gymnastics at regional and national level that have displayed his incredible pedigree as an all round athlete

Tregoze Primary School Emilia Latouche

Sport Represented: Ballet

Achievement Description: Emilia won the 9-10 ballet category at Bournemouth Performing Arts

Competition It was a South West Qualifying Festival and she has now qualified her ballet (& her modern, & global dance) solos for the South West Regional Finals for the All England Dance Competition

Reason For Nomination: Emilia has been impressing us at Tregoze with her dancing achievements over the last few years and it has been great to see her achievements reach a bigger stage this year. She has also just been accepted to the Classical Ballet Associate Programme at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts which is a Sunday pre-vocational programme to focus on ballet. We look forward to hearing about her future achievements!

West Kidlington Primary School Oliver Leggett

Achievement Description: Oliver has enjoyed participating in his first full season at Oxford United Academy.

Reason For Nomination: Oliver is always willing to give his best. He has done a great job this year at showing resilience and has put a lot of effort into managing his emotions when things don’t always go his way.

Zouch Academy Aarya Gurung

Achievement Description:

Aarya is a keen swimmer, keeping herself healthy, active and aims to progress further in competitions. She qualified for Wiltshire County Championship 24 where she further qualified in Regional Championship.

Reason For Nomination: As member of Sailsbury Stringray Swimming Club, Aarya trains regularly in the squad and always shows determination, care and resilience when in her lessons

Zouch Academy Ava-Marie Mullins

Achievement Description:

Ava-Marie started swimming lessons at our local pool and she has done so well. In her second lesson she achieved the Puffin badge which is for being able to travel 5 metres with a floatation device.

Reason For Nomination: She has taken to swimming so well and really enjoys it We are so proud of her determination and resilience

Zouch Academy Evie Pullan

Parent Sport Represented: Ice Skating

Achievement Description:

Evie Pullan has attended ice skating lessons early morning every Sunday in Swindon to learn how to ice skate In the last year she had moved up several levels and is now learning the complex skills at level 5

Reason For Nomination: Evie has shown the value of resilience and hard work in attending her skating lessons. We are so proud of her determination and effort in improving her skating skills.

Zouch Academy Gracie Hopkins

Year Group: Year 6

Achievement Description: This year she passed her Bronze Ski lessons, she only has two more to go before she has completed the course of 9 stages

Reason For Nomination: There have been times she’s found it really difficult but has found her resilience and not given up.

Zouch Academy Isabella Kennedy

Year Group: Year 6

Sport Represented: Golf

Achievement Description:

Isabella took place in the Lynx Junior Golf Tour which comprised of monthly golf competitions between April and Sept 2024 She won the event at Bulbury Woods and came runner up in two other events, this meant she came third overall in her age group.

Reason For Nomination: Isabella dedicates a tremendous amount of time to her golf practice with weekly lessons and winter county training to improve her skills. This year, she has already won one event and is in contention to win the tour for her age group.

Zouch Academy Leo Price

Year Group: Year 6

Nominated by: Victoria Price, Teaching Assistant

Sport Represented: Swimming

Achievement Description: Leo has worked incredibly hard at his swimming club to achieve his distance badges up to and including his 1500m badge. He has also now successfully completed all the Swim England Stages available during his final Primary School year.

Reason For Nomination: Leo has shown incredible determination and resilience. He has shown our school values when encouraging his peers to try their best, enabling others to also achieve their goals He has been praised for his effort and for his positivity and enthusiasm

Zouch Academy Louis Boffy

Year Group: Year 4

Sport Represented: Football

Achievement Description: Louis has had an exceptional season representing the Durrington Demons, in the South Wilts League & Wiltshire RTC in the Junior Premier League His natural leadership has encouraged & focused the team, enabling them to battle until the final whistle.

Reason For Nomination: His technique and striking qualities have been essential to the Demons success, netting 40 of the clubs 93 goals this season. Louis has successfully achieved SWMSL Plate Winners, Durrington Demons and Wilts RTC top goal scorer!
