WEDNESDAY WORD – “GIFT.” LOVE JESUS, LOVE LEARNING, LOVE EACH OTHER. ASSEMBLIES Thank you for coming to the Magpies’, Starlings’ and Blackbirds’ assemblies this week on the theme of Belonging and Remembrance. Photographs are on Twitter and the website. We have been very fortunate to have had Deacon Paul and his wife Susan come to the assemblies this week and they have said how wonderful the children are. CHILDREN IN NEED Raffle tickets are still on sale to win a Giant Pudsey. Tickets cost £1 and will be on sale until Friday 16th November. The draw will be made on this day. We would like the pupils to wear spots and make a donation to the charity next Friday. A KIND DONATION The Ashton Festival Committee have very kindly donated £500 to School Fund. Mr Merry and Mrs Glover presented the cheque to the school council yesterday. The council will now discuss ways of putting the money to good use. FRIENDS OF ASHTON MEMORIAL GARDEN All of KS2 have visited the garden today and have received a bookmark from representatives of the Friends of Ashton, to commemorate the 100 years since the end of World War 1. The children read prayers and poems and engaged in moments of stillness.
