OZZIE’S NEWS – 29.11.19

WEDNESDAY WORD – “ADVENT.” LOVE JESUS, LOVE LEARNING, LOVE EACH OTHER. ASHTON CHRISTMAS MARKETS Our brilliant choir will be performing some Christmas classics on Sunday at 1:00 p.m., on the market. We are opening the show and we’d love your support so please come along and support the school and the community. They are also going to be performing at the SOCHDOC gathering at the Canon’s Hall on Wednesday and the TSB bank at 10:30 a.m. on Friday morning. They will also be singing at the Bingosingalong on Friday afternoon. A TREAT FOR THE FOOTBALL TEAM This week, members of our football team visited the Wigan Athletic training ground in Chorley and they got to meet some of the players and see what it’s like behind the scenes. They all had a brilliant morning and thoroughly enjoyed themselves, representing the school brilliantly. They are looking forward to meeting the players and watching the Wigan V Reading game tomorrow! LATICS IN THE COMMUNITY – SCHOOL OF THE WEEK We have been selected to be school of the week, so some of the children along with Mrs Grindley have been filmed this week. Starlings were filmed during their PE lesson and this will appear on the big screen during half time tomorrow. BASKETBALL COMPETITION 6 of our Y6 pupils represented the school in a Basketball competition this week. Jacob, Maya, Ava, Ryan, Zack and Adam all played very well

together as a team and they won 2 games and lost 2 games. A good time was had by all. COME AND SEE YOUR CHILD’S WORK We would like to invite you in to have a look at the work your child has been doing in their books. It’s an opportunity for your child to talk to you about their learning so far this term. The trays will be out in your child’s class on Tuesday 3rd December at 3:30 p.m. CHRISTMAS FLUMPETS These are on sale in school next week and they are £2 each. All money is for Wigan and Leigh Hospice. PLEASE HELP! We’ve unfortunately noticed a number of parents, carers and children using the car park in a morning between 8:45 and 9:00 a.m. The car park must not be used to access classrooms. Access is only through the EYFS/KS1 playground gate or the track alongside school (which has been repaired this week by the council) and onto the KS2 playground. Please respect this rule – it is for the safety of (y)our children. The residents on Townfields have also expressed their concerns about dangerous parking, so please support us with this matter by making use of the Church car park and the market car park. Thank you. WHOLE SCHOOL HOMEWORK The Christmas Tree is on its way and for homework this week, we would like all of the children to make a star decoration to hang on it. #getcreative #sparkletime COLLECTIVE WORSHIP THEME
