WEDNESDAY WORD – “PRAYER.” LOVE JESUS, LOVE LEARNING, LOVE EACH OTHER. CHRISTMAS IS FULLY IN FLOW This week has seen the start of our Christmas productions, with our youngest children in Owlets and Eaglets, performing brilliantly to a packed audience. The Sparrows, Robins, Wagtails, Blackbirds and Starlings all put on great shows too, and got us all into the festive spirit, telling the nativity story in their own special way. Thank you so much for all of the effort that you have gone to, helping the children to learn their lines and providing them with their costumes. A thank you also to the PTA who have been selling refreshments throughout the afternoons, raising money for the children. BINGOSINGALONG Last Friday, we welcomed over 40 grandparents and parishioners to our school for our annual Bingosingalong. It was a fantastic afternoon and our Y5 children and choir hosted brilliantly, along with Mr Ode, our professional bingo caller. Everybody managed to leave with a hamper, thanks to the donations from the children. FOOD BANK DONATION We’ve managed to donate the remaining food to the local food bank in Ashton. Mr Ode, Mrs Harris and a group of Y4 children have delivered the donations today. EVEN MORE DONATIONS This week, we were visited by John Burns, the chairperson of the Ashton branch of the Royal British Legion. A group of children handed a cheque for £200 over to John. This was raised on the Remembrance afternoon event. Thank you
again for your cake donations and attendance at the event. John was very appreciative on behalf of the Royal British Legion and we look forward to continuing our work with them in the future. CLASS STAR OF THE TERM The children have been nominating their class mates for the star of the term award this week. The winners will be announced next week. WELL DONE LILY (Y5) AND ELLA (Y2) Lily and Ella ran a stall at their parent’s work last weekend and raised £424.22 for Clic Sargent. Well done girls. #theozziesway CUBS’ BUCKETBALL CHAMPIONS Well done to Henry (Y4), Annabelle, Matthew S, Lucas T and Amy (all in Y5) who won the Bucketball Tournament this week, at cubs. It sounds like such a fun game and well done to Henry who scored the most buckets. CHRISTMAS JUMPER AND DINNER DAY The children have looked very festive today in their Christmas jumpers for Save the Children. They have managed to raise £150 for this fantastic charity. They have also enjoyed a delicious Christmas dinner. Photos are on Twitter. AND FINALLY… We are jingling all the way in our last week of 2019. We’ve got 3 more productions to go; Pop project and Rock Kidz; Christmas films with pizza and popcorn; children will also be celebrating with an Advent service and our Christmas assembly. There will be lots of
“THE OZZIE’S WAY CHAMPIONS OF THE WEEK.” All of these children have made St. Oswald’s HAPPY this week. Well done children. Keep it up.
