OZZIE’S NEWS – 1.11.19 WEDNESDAY WORD – “GENEROUS.” LOVE JESUS, LOVE LEARNING, LOVE EACH OTHER. ALL SAINTS’ DAY MASS Today, all Y6 pupils have attended the All Saints’ Day Mass at lunch time at church. The children conducted themselves brilliantly. PHOTOGRAPHS This week, the children have all had their photographs taken and the proof copies should be coming home soon. Payment for these will now be online on the Tempest website and school will not be accepting any money for photographs. These will be delivered to school in time for Christmas. RED SQUIRRELS’ ASSEMBLY William, Lois, Mihaela and Solene all planned and delivered an interesting assembly on red squirrels for the children. They had given up a lot of their own time to prepare for this assembly and we learned lots from them. Well done children. KS1’S VISIT TO CHURCH All of the pupils in KS1 went over to church this week to meet Deacon Paul and find out all about the sacrament of Baptism. The children were very well behaved in church and had lots of interesting questions for Deacon Paul. Y1 – Y6 JUDO CLUB On Thursday, Bob and Marian visited us to talk to the
children about the up and coming Judo breakfast club. The club looks great fun and the children have all taken a letter home with the details about the club. The club starts on Thursday 7th November at 8:00 a.m. in the school hall. POPPIES ARE FOR SALE Poppies and British Legion goods are now on sale. The suggested donation is 20p for a poppy and other goods range from 50p to £1. Further to this, we will be holding a special event on Friday 8th November from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. to raise additional funds for the British Legion and school. There’s dancing, poetry reading, singing and even a special visit from a local Bugler, who will be playing the last post. All children will be wearing red for remembrance on this day. CHILDREN IN NEED Raffle tickets are on sale to win a Giant Pudsey. Tickets cost £1. The draw will be made on Friday 15th November.
