YEAR 4 HOMEWORK
READING - EVERY night for a minimum of 20 minutes. Children should have their reading journal in school every day and are encouraged to use the comprehension section at the front of the journals to think further about their reading. SPELLING – each Friday there will be a spelling test using the weekly spellings. MATHS - The children have their own login details for My Maths Online and are encouraged to continue working through the set tasks as well as practising their times tables on TT Rockstars which is proving a huge success! HOMEWORK PROJECT – See below for the 3 activities that make up this half term’s homework project. They need to be completed and handed in on or before Friday 21st June 2019. These activities can be done in any order and will be shared in class after the deadline. Please note, this is a very short half term, even so, we do expect ALL children to complete their homework and hand it in on time. Many thanks for your cooperation on this matter.

RELIGION FOCUS: Easter 2019 Create a painting, pastel or collage picture which represents the Holy Spirit and the new life it brings to those who receive it. WRITING FOCUS: Comma after fronted adverbials Complete the activity sheets to revise fronted adverbials. Then write your own story starter using fronted adverbials to engage your reader. REMEMBER to use commas after every fronted adverbial you use. Your story starter should be a paragraph long (at least 5 lines) and should include mention of a setting and at least one character.

Try making your web colourful and bright, making sure it is legible (readable) so that you can use the words in your writing. For an extra challenge, try to link the words together like a Scrabble board (see right)
