YEAR 2 HOMEWORK Dear Parents / Carers, The children are about to embark on a fantastic homework project! They have been given a leaflet “Island Adventure Story”. Inside the leaflet is a range homework tasks that will build up to an amazing project as last year’s work proved to be! The children have been shown examples in class and it has been explained to them. The photos show you the sort of work we have had in the past.
In order to do this creative homework, we recommend that the children use a scrapbook. As you can see from the photos, some children use objects like lolly sticks. A scrap book has thicker, stronger pages which hold the work together. If this is not possible, then use the homework book. We are sending a range of sheets and writing frames to help but please do not feel you have to use these. The children are very welcome to use any paper, pens, glitter, stickers and creative art resources that they have at home. Indeed, last year there were photographs and pictures from magazines…it really is a great opportunity for the children to get creative and show their talents! We are sending everything they will need in advance. That way, you can decide to do the activities at your own pace. You may like to do them over the holidays or week by week during school time. Please ensure your child does not lose the leaflet as it will be needed throughout the homework project. All year the children have been working on spelling, reading lots of different types of texts and writing a range of texts too. In addition, they have produced some lovely art work. This homework is a culmination of all this work and we look forward to seeing their creations! Please do not hesitate to ask should you have any questions. As it says on the leaflet – have fun! Many Thanks, Team Year 2
