NEWSLETTER KEY DATES
LEARNING IS FUN! Today you will find attached to this newsletter a dates list for the year. At St. John’s we have so many exciting events taking place that we wanted to give everyone lots of notice of the opportunities your child will be involved in. You will notice on the list that there are 3 trips for each class. KS2 classes each have a residential as one of them and each class has a local trip and one further away. We know that our children get a lot out of visits and hope that really will bring our new curriculum topics to life. We have also introduced an additional assembly so that each class can share some of their topic learning with you. As always, if there are any financial barriers to any of the opportunities at St. John’s, please come and talk to us.
YEAR 3 CAVE PAINTINGS
Once again, our classes have been learning in an exciting and creative way this week; As part of their topic work based on ‘Scavengers and Settlers,’ Year 3 have been looking at cave paintings from around the world and have been having a go at creating their own.

YEAR 5 SCIENCE
The year 5 were busy working scientifically this week learning about states of matter and trying to work out which type of substance would have the most reaction on yeast. Niamh said. ‘“We wanted to find out how to 1
