They are: 1. Design and Brand name 2. Source of the raw materials (where has the natural material come from) e.g. where was the cotton grown?

3. Manufacturing and processing e.g. where has the cotton been woven into fabric and dyed?

4. Finishing and putting together e.g. where has the material been cut and made into jeans?

5. Consumerism, selling the jeans or final product.
