“SCHOOL CLOSURE” EDITION NUMBER EIGHT
Thursday 4th June 2020
Uniform is currently NOT available for sale. We will review the situation at the beginning of July and will notify you of any change. Thank you for your co-operation. This week we welcomed back more of our pupils whose parents are Key Workers. Our new classrooms accommodate a maximum of 8 pupils, allowing room for 2 metres social distancing. Lots has obviously changed since pupils left on lock down, the school day is currently from 9am-3pm, to allow our fabulous cleaning team the opportunity to deep clean the site twice a day. Parents are currently unable to enter our Reception Area, due to staff safety and distancing requirements, if you need to contact the school please telephone or email the office. We will of course keep you updated, please check your emails for any news regularly.
A MESSAGE FROM MR GOUGH… I would recommend the following e-book for all year groups, it sensitively deals with Children at Home during COVID-19. https://issuu.com/unpublications/docs/from-my-window
GHOST TRAIN by Mia Branigan 6N The train next door in the field in front of the house is a ghost train because there’s nobody In it. Its engine whistles because it is so excited for people. When it gets to its destination, there’s nobody there, not a cat, dog, or a bug. Just the coal arrives. The coal people load coal on, they go away, not even thinking about the ghost train with nobody in it. I feel sorry for the train with nobody in it. It’s like a house with no one home. No baby to crawl, no people to laugh or have fun. It’s just an empty train with nobody in it. I smell the oil going past. I hear the4 wheels on the track. The train has been all around Frome to the milk station and back. It passes playgrounds and farms with animals in them. And I feel sorry for the train with nobody in it.
