CHRISTMAS BINGO NIGHT Once again we had a full house, with an exciting evening of Bingo and a brilliant raffle. Thank you to Mrs Newland our super caller, and to Mrs Warren for sourcing fabulous prizes!

Panto hits Oakfield (Oh yes it does!)

The hall was packed on Wednesday and Thursday for the first Oakfield panto in living memory.

The audience was treated to a feast of classic panto characters, including a vicious baddie and his feisty parrot sidekick, a greedy dim-witted squire and his beautiful daughter, a warm-hearted dame in financial difficulty (aren't we all?), the local WI and a host of others... all in search of Billy Bones' treasure.

There were songs, custards pies, ad-libbing, audience participation, ghosts, plot twists and a water pistol fight - all of which the cast handled with skill and aplomb, ably supported by the tech team on sound, lights and stage management.

Pupils from all year groups showed brilliant teamwork and creativity, bringing this complex, full-length production to life in their own unique way.

We wish you great success in your new roles.

This was a first outing for this team and they did themselves proud!

Our pupils were really welcoming and friendly and made the tournament a lot of fun.

Oakfield won their matches and showed strong sportsmanship through shaking hands after the games, complementing the opposition on good play and by being humble in victory.

On Tuesday 13th September our Year Six pupils enjoyed a fabulous trip to the Bristol Hippodrome to see the Cinderella pantomime. All pupils and staff thoroughly enjoyed the show which starred Strictly’s Craig Revel-Horwood.

They are in the 80-120 range where 100 reflects the national average to help you compare and track academic achievement. We hope you'll take the opportunity to video-call teachers next month, to help interpret progress, attitudes to learning and next steps on an individual basis.
