Nursery Admissions Policy There are 52 places available in the Nursery Unit. We are able to offer 26 morning places and 26 afternoon places. (8.45- 11.45 and 12.15 - 3.15). The Governors believe that the following notes may give guidance to parents: 1.
Children are usually admitted to Nursery at the start of the academic year, which is one year before the child reaches statutory school age or when places become available. They are expected to complete three terms, except in exceptional circumstances. Attendance will be offered for either the morning or afternoon session.
2.
Parents are invited to put their child's name down for admission to Nursery when the child is two years old but places will not be allocated by length of time on the list. The Nursery place request form is completed at school by the FS Manager (Mrs Smith) with the parent. Applications for places will not be accepted by letter or telephone.
3.
The completion of a request form does not guarantee a place in Nursery. Attendance in the Nursery does not guarantee a place in the Primary School.
4.
The arrangements for the admission of pupils to the Nursery rest with the Headteacher and Governing Body, who manage admissions on behalf of the Local Authority.
5.
Applications should be received not later than 25th May for the following Autumn Term start. Parents and carers will be notified of the allocation of a place by 16 th June
6.
Parents will be informed in writing if it is not possible to offer a place in the Nursery class. The letter will inform them that they may appeal to the Governing Body's Admissions Appeal Committee. The decision of the Committee will be binding on the applicant and the school.
