Maths: Our focus this half term in Maths will start with multiplication. We will be moving onto our 3, 4 and 8 times tables. Then, we will extend on what we know about multiplication and division to begin multiplying and dividing 2 digit numbers by 1 digit numbers. Finally, we will use our four operation arithmetic skills to help us complete calculations involving length.
English: This half term we will be reading and analysing folk tales using the wonderful story of The Tin Forest by Helen Ward. Following this, we will be looking at poems with set structure and based around the theme of weather and the environment linked to our Geography topic.
Year 3 Half Term 3/Spring 1: Extreme weather. Science: In science, this half term we will be studying rocks, soil and fossils. The children will be able to identify the different types of rocks. We will also investigate how fossils are formed.
RE: We are continuing to learn about Christianity and what Christians believed it meant to be a disciple of Jesus. We will look at the qualities of a strong leader and investigate the work of a Christian organisation that helps those in need.
PE: In P.E this half term we will be practicing our accuracy and teamwork as part of our target games unit. Alongside this, we will improve on our fundamental movement skills in our gymnastics.
Computing: In computing we will be looking at spreadsheets, how they are made, what information we can put into them. We will then begin to look at touch typing.
