Half-term: Spring 2 (Monday 19th February – Monday 25th March)
Theme: Ancient Civilisations
Instructions:
• Choose and complete at least 6 activities over the course of the half-term.
• Hand in through Seesaw or bring into school
• Each piece will be worth 1-10 house points.
• We expect you to complete each homework task with care.
• We expect you to complete each homework to the best of your ability.

Light it up
How many different sources of light can you think of? Create a table of sources of light that are inside and outside of your house. Make sure you explain how the source gives of the light.
Describe and Draw
Create your own character using the iron man as inspiration (e.g. stone man or tree woman)
Describe what they look like, how they move and where they are. Include and illustration with your description page.
Model Geographer
Make a model globe which includes the layers of the earth and tectonic plates. Remember to also identify the different hemispheres and the equator. You could even use it to map extreme weather events happening in the world.
Safe to Send
Write an e-mail describing who it is safe to send an e-mail to and what information is safe to send in an e-mail.
Make sure you email this homework to the school office.
Measuring Maths
Using a jug and water measure the capacity things around your house. E.g. bowls, vases, cups, pans and dishes.
Use these to create capacity equations where you add up the amounts.
Spelling Scribbles
Create a spelling scribble using the words on See Saw from our curriculum list.
Spanish
Draw a fruit bowl and label all the fruits in Spanish.
Ancient Facts
Make a fact file or poster using pictures, timelines and diagrams about one of our 4 ancient civilisations. Remember to include their important achievements and legacies.
Shadow Experiment
Use a torch and a toy, e.g. Lego person, to make a shadow. Draw around the shadows, see if you can make different size shadows by moving the toy. Label each drawing letting me know how far away the toy was from the light.
Times table Rockstar
Try and earn 500 coins or more across the half term on TT Rockstars.
Weather words
Create calligrams for our different weather events. Remember to colour them in carefully,
Test the teacher
Choose one of our subjects for this half term and create a quiz for Mr Dowd and Mrs Morris to answer.

Spelling Words:
Spelling Homework Menu (Pick 10 words and an activity each week to help you practise)
Pyramid Words
Write each word once in the shape of a pyramid, adding one letter each time.
Spelling word search
Create your own word search including your spelling words. Remember to write a key and bring it in for us all to solve.
Newspaper words
Cut out letters from newspapers or magazines to form each spelling word once.
Alphabetical Order
Write your spelling words out in Alphabetical order.
Word Repetition
Write each word three times in print.
Questions and Statements
Write a question or sentence that uses one spelling word. Do this for each of your words.
