Maths: In Maths, this half term we will be looking at addition and subtraction. We will be learning the column method and exchanging in the 10’s and 100’s. We will also add and subtract numbers up to three digit. Over the half term, we will also begin to learn our 3, 4 and 8 times tables. Science: To kick start our half-term, the children will be learning all about the different food groups and the importance a balanced diet. We will the move on to studying rocks, soil and fossils. The children will be able to identify the different types of rocks. We will also investigate how fossils are formed.

English: This half term we will be researching Stonehenge and creating our very own fact file about it. We will also be reading “The Tin Forest” to help us learn all about folk tales, how they are passed down through generations and write our own tales to read to year 2. Finally, we will be looking at the book “Dear Greenpeace” and writing our own persuasive letters about environmental change.

Year 3 Half Term 2/Autumn 2: Colours of the world. RE: This half term we will be looking at why the prophet Mohammed is an example for Muslims. We will look at the practise of Zakat in the Islamic religion. Looking at how important being charitable is to Muslims. Computing: This half term we will be looking at online safety and the importance of being responsible on the internet. We will look at blogging and how to do it safely.

PE: Physical Education will be led by our sport partners at West Lancashire Sports Partnership. P.E. will be on Wednesday and Friday. The children will continue to develop and embed their skills associated within Invasion games!
