Dear Parents and Governors, Welcome back to a very short term! I hope you had a great Easter. I’m sure you will join with me and the children in thanking the PTA for arranging a visit from the Easter Bunny and thank you for the children’s’ Easter Eggs! The staff and I would also like to thank you for our Easter gifts, they are always appreciated. I have tried to include everything I can on this newsletter and the attached diary date sheet. Your child/children’s Class Newsletters will also have dates which exclusively to their class activities. Please check the website calendar if you are unsure of any dates or timings. Class/Team /Year 6 Photographs The class, team and Year 6 photographs will take place on Tuesday 7 May. Please ensure that your children are in very smart school uniform on this day. If your child is in Years 4, 5 and 6 and has played in our football team this year; please ensure they have their football boots in school. The Netball Team will require their trainers on this day. Year 6 SAT’s Testing As you know your child will be sitting their SAT’s between 13 May and 16 May. Testing will take place each morning from Monday to Thursday. Please ensure that your child is well rested over the weekend and that they start the day with a healthy breakfast. You may send your child with a healthy snack (no nuts or chocolate bars) to eat alongside their midmorning fruit. Please ensure that your send your child with a water bottle every day.

BBQ Lunch Menu – 16 May 2018 Just to let you know that we are changing our regular menu to a BBQ Lunch menu on Thursday 16 May 2018.

Reminders School Property Please can I ask you to return any school equipment that may have made its way to your home? We are particularly missing maths equipment: Dice, Compare Bears and of course any Reading Books or books that should be returned to the library.

On the bottom right hand side of the website you will also find a button to register you email address to that you can receive copies of our newsletters to your email School Meal Changes Please can I remind you to give Mrs Mitchell one weeks notice if your child wishes to change the day they have their meal or stop or start school meal. This is because all food is ordered a week in advance. Please remember: All meals must be paid for in advance Walking Bus The KM Walking Bus is a collaborative scheme designed to help parents share the task of taking children to school. Parents wanting to join Monkton Walking Bus should contact Catherine Arnell on: 07957641471 The Governors, Staff and I would like to thank Miss Arnell and her team for their excellent work in managing our Walking Bus. We would like to urge as many parents as possible to use the bus whenever they can to reduce congestion on the road and ensure that children get a healthy start to their day. Parking I would like to remind everyone of the importance of parking considerately and sensibly, before and after school. Please could you let people not connected with the school know where to pick up and drop off your children. Please avoid parking on the narrow section of road running towards the Foxhunter Caravan Park; the zigzag yellow lines outside the school and of course the bus stop.

If your child doesn’t normally eat a school meal on Thursdays and they would like a BBQ Lunch. Please complete the form sent with this newsletter.

Supervision and Crossing Patrol We would be so grateful if you would ensure that your children are kept under close supervision when they are coming and going from school. Please ensure that your children walk with you and hold your hand if they cannot be trusted to walk by
