Poor Punctuality or leaving before the end of the schoo day is not acceptable
School data shows a link between poor attendance and under-achievement
Our school day starts at 8.45am with the register and ends at 3.30pm.
Gates and doors will open at 8.35am.
Miss ng just 10 minutes of school every day (either in the morn ng or the afternoon) is the same as missing two weeks of school over the full year
Pupils who arrive late and/or leave early also disrupt lessons, which can be embarrassing for the child and can in turn, encourage absence. It is also extremely distruptive for the rest of the class

Aim for a good nights sleep (approx 10hrs). This will make the following day at school easier to cope with
Make sure your child eats breakfast it helps them to stay alert at school
Help your child develop routines
Get their school bag ready the night before
Develop a night time routine that involves checking their homework, reading & bed.
Try to make sure that any medical/dental appointments are made for after school
Never take holidays in term time
If you know your child will be absent from schoo, write a note before the day of the absence
If you child is ill, ring the school as soon as possible on the first day of absence

Every half-day absence from school has to be classified by school as either AUTHORISED or UNAUTHORISED
This is why information about the cause for absence is always required.
Authorised absences are mornings or afternoons away from school for a good reason such as ilness, media/dental appointments which unaviodably fall in school time, emergencies or other unaviodabe cause Evidence for appointments is required by the school office for our records
Unauthourised absences are those which the schoo does not consider reasonable and for which no ‘leave has been given. This type of absence can lead to the Local Authority, Pupil Welfare Service using sanctions and/or legal proceedings.
