Lomeshaye Life We have had another superb week at Lomeshaye Junior School with many wonderful and exciting activities happening. This week it has been our school celebration of 30 years since the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child was signed, thank you to all of the parents that came to share your child’s work. We have continued to be affected by the winter bug, so our attendance figures are not as high as they have been. Let’s hope this improves next week. Well done to everyone that attended school over the last week, where our whole school attendance figure was 94%. Sadly, this was below our whole school target , but it was a slight improvement on last weeks figures. Let’s hope that next week our attendance shows even more signs of improvement. 30th Birthday Celebrations— This week saw pupils in our school celebrating the 30th birthday of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. Children in class have worked hard to produce some great work that they were able to share with their parents and family members on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon this week.
Winter Gritting and Snow Clearance Arrangements—as you are well aware the Winter months are well and truly with us now. This can cause some issues getting your children to school and while many of the main roads should be gritted, unfortunately Norfolk Street may still remain icy. Can I please remind all parents that you may need to take some extra time getting to school, perhaps you could set off 10 minutes early, and also consider parking a little further away from the school gates on those bad mornings.
