Lomeshaye Life Once again it has been a great week at Lomeshaye. Everyone is working very hard and Year 6 have completed their first set of Mock SATS exams. We also had a special visitor this week, Martin Russell, who came as part of an assessment for our Rights Respecting Schools work. Martin was hugely impressed with the work that has taken place at school in such as short space of time to get us on the road to achieving the GOLD award. The results of his assessment will be released before Christmas.
Well done to everyone that attended school over the last week, where our whole school attendance figure was 95.9%. This is only 0.1% off our whole school target so a huge well done for everyone that got to school this week. Let’s hope that next week our attendance shows even more signs of improvement. Police Cadets— this week our Year 6 Police Cadets had a fabulous time learning all about the role of the Crime Scene Investigation workers— CSI. All pupils had a great time asking lots of interesting questions and listening to the experts in this field of enquiry. They found out how CSI’s look for clues that can help to solve a crime that has been committed, how fingerprints can be found and how DNA is unique to every individual. East Lancashire Football Alliance— In our assembly on Friday, 5 pupils from our school were presented with the Autumn Cup from East Lancashire Football Alliance. A huge congratulations goes to Saif 5C, Hamza 6E, Ishaaq 6E, Adam 6E and Amin 4S. Attendance Winners—this months attendance prize winners are Amir from 5L and Muskaan from 3M who get a £20 voucher to attend Burnley Cinema to watch a film of their choice. Congratulations and enjoy the movie!
